Morris and Borenstein unite for cello concerto world premiere

Following on from her recent highly acclaimed album 'Chrysalis', Corinne Morris once again takes centre stage, this time with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and Frederic Chaslin, to perform the world premiere of Nimrod Borenstein's Second Cello Concerto.

Written for Corinne, this work is described by the composer as 'a large-scale, muscular concerto in the grand tradition of Dvorak, Shostokovich and Elgar', something that Corinne feels has become increasingly rare in recent years. Of Corinne's playing, Nimrod says: 'Corinne has a certain scale and richness to her playing... and it's a joy to have that kind of canvas'.

Featured as part of the BBC Philharmonic's 'Studio Concerts' series, this world premiere takes place on Tuesday 5 June 2018.
